In the novels: Eglantine sponsors players, poets, artists, musicians, dancers, tumblers, and clothiers. They hold that Naamah charmed the King of Persis with the sweetness of her song. The year Phèdre nó Delaunay served at the Midwinter Masque, Eglantine's adepts attended costumed as a company of Tsingani (gypsies). A troupe of Eglantine adepts are responsible for mercilessly mocking Joscelin Verreuil when he follows Phèdre to Night's Doorstep. (Favrielle nó Eglantine, who becomes Phedre's favorite clothing designer, also came from Eglantine House.) Eglantine House will serve as the TdA kitchen and cafe, as well as hosting numerous Starlight Salons, and will have a lively decor (primarily in black and red), with tables and chairs, games and playing cards to use, and plenty of refreshments available.
In the novels: the year Phèdre nó Delaunay served at the Midwinter Masque, Gentian dressed its adepts as seers and preceded their entrance with opium incense. Gentian House will have an exotic, India-Harem-Morocco theme, with multiple colors, low tables and floor cushions. (And, of course, lots of candles and opium incense.) Eglantine House: Co-op cafe open daily (from 2pm), with High Tea served at 4pm sharp. To attend High Tea, bring something to share or a tip to contribute. The cafe is no-charge and runs on contributions. A variety of teas, coffee, espresso, and munchies are available. Gentian House: Tarot Card Readings, Moonlight Salons and other mystical happenings will take place inside the exotic realm of Gentian House. Moonlight Breakfast: Eglantine House will be hosting "Moonlight Breakfast" on the First Tuesday of Pennsic. This party is to introduce ourselves to the neighborhood and thank our friends and setup helpers. It will start at 9pm and will include a big, full breakfast, plus games and sparkling conversation, (inspired in part by the flowing champagne and OJ). By invitation only. (Shirts required to all camp events. Good grooming and hygiene is expected.) Starlight Salons: When the stars are out, so are the Night Blooming Flowers of Terre d'Ange. Come enjoy our nightly salons (every night except when a special event or party is noted) in our comfy party pavillions. Gentian House will feature exotic decor, low tables and floor cushions, tarot card reading and other mystical pleasures. Nextdoor at Eglantine House, enjoy lively conversation, games and cards, music and merrymaking. Everyone over 21 is invited. (Shirts required to all camp events. Good grooming and hygiene is expected.) Longest Night Party: Both Houses will host the Longest Night Masquerade Party on the Second Tuesday of Pennsic. ~ Our bewitching oasis will sparkle with candles and flickering oil torches, the air will be filled with exotic incense, shimmering sheer curtains will surround the party pavillions, sweet wine and flirtatious conversation will flow, and the enchanted guests will float through our Dreamland wearing their most alluring garb, transformed by the delicious anonymity of their mysterious masks. Entrance by invitation only, 21 and over. Costumes not desired, but masks are a necessity. (Good grooming and hygiene is expected. The shirt requirement is waived for the Longest Night Party; if you have a nice chest, we invite you to show it off.) Pack your mask and bring something provocative to wear... |
